General Info

Bonuses: 10% bonus to Small Hybrid Turret falloff and 5% Small Hybrid Turret damage per skill level; 80% reduction in Propulsion Jamming systems activation cost.

The Atron is very fast, making it well suited to speed-tanking, even when only fit with an Afterburner. It has a nicely flexible slot layout, giving you many different fitting options. Like most of the Attack Frigates, the Atron works very well at both short and long ranges. It makes a particularly effective blaster boat, but because of the nature of the Hydra fleet, we recommend fitting railguns to take advantage of the Atron's bonuses while staying out of range of the many smart-bombing battleships that are thrown at our fleet during the PVP-BASIC class. Because it is quite fragile, we recommend fitting it to fight at longer ranges (8-10km optimal or greater) for Hydra fleets.

The Condor is pretty tight on power grid, so in addition to the recommended basic skills listed in the class reading material, you will need to train Electronics and Engineering to level 4 in order to use the fits listed below. If you don't have these skills trained to level 4, just don't fit the suggested rigs and everything else will fit.

Remember that you should bring a range of EWAR modules, since we may ask you to change them when we set up the fleet. For the full list of modules to bring, see Recommended Modules for PVP-Frigspec.

Additional Notes

You should carry with you:

  • 1000 units of Small Antimatter.
  • Optionally, you may also want to carry a single load or two of a longer-range ammunition, such as lead or plutoniom, for times when you don't have time to get in range of the target with antimatter
  • Carry both kinds of scripts for any electronic warfare modules that need them

Example EFT Fittings

This is a recommended all-T1 fitting. This fit requires Engineering 4 and Hybrid Weapon Rigging 3 in addition to our recommended minimum skills. If you don't have these skills trained and/or find yourself running out of power grid, drop one or both of the rigs because these rigs will increase your turret's power grid usage. If you haven't trained rigging skills, you can do without the suggested rigs:

[Atron, Hydra T1]
Pseudoelectron Containment Field I
Local Hull Conversion Overdrive Injector I
Nanofiber Internal Structure I

Experimental 1MN Afterburner I
J5 Prototype Warp Disruptor I
Phased Muon Sensor Disruptor I, Targeting Range Dampening Script

150mm Prototype Gauss Gun, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
150mm Prototype Gauss Gun, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
150mm Prototype Gauss Gun, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
[empty high slot]

Small Hybrid Burst Aerator I
Small Hybrid Collision Accelerator I
[empty rig slot]

This is a sample T2 fit, which will require more advanced skills:

[Atron, Hydra T2]
Damage Control II
Overdrive Injector System II
Nanofiber Internal Structure II

Experimental 1MN Afterburner I
Balmer Series Tracking Disruptor I, Optimal Range Disruption Script
J5 Prototype Warp Disruptor I

150mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
150mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
150mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Auto Targeting System I

Small Hybrid Burst Aerator I
Small Hybrid Locus Coordinator I
Small Hybrid Metastasis Adjuster I

Alumni Only: The following suggested fit is for Alumni ONLY. In this fit, we swap out the afterburner for a microwarp drive, and fit longer range guns. You would fly this almost like it was an interceptor, pulsing the microwarp drive to get into point range then holding down the target while it dies. Carry some Spike ammo with you - Spike will give you an optimal of 32km (plus 11km falloff) and use it when you are at long range. Students should NOT use this fit, as microwarpdrive = death until you are familiar with evading bombs and smart-bombing battleships. The stats are the same as for the T2 fit above, except for speed (4,654ms with microwarpdrive, 6,637ms overheated)

[Atron, Hydra Alumni]
Pseudoelectron Containment Field I
Overdrive Injector System II
Nanofiber Internal Structure II

Limited 1MN MicroWarpdrive I
Balmer Series Tracking Disruptor I, Optimal Range Disruption Script
Warp Disruptor II

150mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
150mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
150mm Railgun II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
[empty high slot]

Small Hybrid Burst Aerator I
Small Ancillary Current Router I
Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I

If you're looking for a great tackling, the dual prop fit below is excellent. It typically uses blasters, but since their range is exceedingly short, this fit has been modified to utilize 75mm railguns.

[Atron, Hydra DualProp Tackle]
Damage Control II
Overdrive Injector System II
Small Armor Repairer II

Limited 1MN MicroWarpdrive I
1MN Afterburner II
Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I
