Certification Content

  1. Navigation
    1. Explain the importance of using 2D maps while leading a gang.
    2. Explain how to create a waypoint route and transmit the entire route to the gang.
      1. Assuming someone new joins the gang, how can you transmit the entire route again?
    3. Explain how fleet, wing and squad warps work.
      1. Why would you want to warp fleet over having each squad warp itself
    4. To what range are you able to warp a Fleet to a bookmark.
  2. Communications
    1. Explain the importance of setting and communicating the mission objective to members of your fleet
      1. Define the mission objective for the following Gangs, ship movement and a Roaming(hunting)Gang
    2. Explain the importance of after action reports and how they should be constructed.
      1. What kinds of things do we want to avoid putting in these reports.
      2. Why do we want to focus on actions of the fleet and not on the individual
    3. What kind of communication style do you use when you are in charge of the fleet.
  3. Tactics
    1. Explain the relative threat levels of the following kinds of ships. Frigates Interceptors Interdictors Recon ships EAF's Cruisers HAC's HIC's Battle cruisers and Battleships.
    2. Explain the importance of calling targets in the right order.
    3. Explain when you should change targets and when you should stay on the current target.
    4. Most alliances proscribe that the worst thing a fleet commander can do is change the primary target. Explain why this order is a bad idea.
  4. Reconnaissance
    1. Explain how far out ahead and or behind your fleet the following Reconnaissance resources should be Covert Ops, Skirmishers, and Scouts.
    2. Explain the methods used in taking the information give in recon reports and correlating the information into a tactical picture for your area of operations.
    3. Given 3 reconnaissance reports from your evaluator form a Fleet Operations Order for each one.
  5. Practical Operation
    1. Organize, plan, and execute at least 2 of the 4 following types of Gangs. Small ship Roaming, Mixed Fleet ship movement Gang (point to point), Logistical support movement, and Long range Roaming
    2. Submit an After Action Report on each Gang to your evaluator.
