Introduction

PVP-WOLFPACKS expands upon the content of PVP-BASIC. The course assumes that the student has mastered the PVP-BASIC content and then builds upon that content to introduce more advanced skills.

The main focus of the Wolfpacks class is on piloting, advanced game mechanics, and nullsec survival. The class will include both theory and practical demonstrations, including live fire exercises in nullsec space which will take place on day one. Students should show up for both days of the class expecting to be flying in a hostile environment.

Preparation

The instructor will assume that you have studied the articles below prior to attending class. Remember that in PvP University classes, it is your responsibility to do the learning. We can only provide the information, you have to decide to learn it.

  1. Study the Agony Empire Rules of Engagement
  2. Read all articles indexed below.
  3. Buy and fit at least 2 thrashers in accordance with the guidelines below.
  4. Come on Teamspeak before the course to verify that your microphone and headset are working. You must be able to listen and speak on Teamspeak in order to participate.

Ships and Fittings

The Wolfpacks class takes place entirely in thrashers - the minmatar destroyer. The reasons for this will be discussed in more detail during the class, however it's primarily to take advantage of the high alpha strike (also known as volley damage) offered by a thrasher with artillery, making the wolfpacks gang excellent for quick hit and run attacks.

All thrashers should be artillery fit, and should fit an afterburner. A damage control and a sensor booster are recommended, and other low/mid slots should be used for damage and electronic warfare respectively. As with PVP-BASIC, you should bring alternative ewar mods as we will balance the fleet before heading out.

It is highly recommended that at least one of your thrashers is fit to be disposable - you should use this thrasher for the live-fire practical exercises on day one of the class.
