Introduction

The below setups are good examples of destroyer fits that can be used in PVP-Wolfpacks Class. If you have been pvping solo or in small gangs, they may not be ideal but they work well in big numbers. Keep in mind, however, that EWAR and agility are the Hydra Fleet's main tank.

Until the Crucible expansion, the great strength of a destroyer (particularly the thrasher) was their alpha strike - they fired slowly, but hit hard. Since artillery has an alpha strike so much stronger than any other weapon system, the thrasher simply outclassed all the other dessys for this role, hence its prominence on the battlefield.

Now destroyers have been buffed - they're smaller (and harder to hit), and they also kick out a lot more damage than they used to. Because of this, our Wolfpacks class now focuses on HSSR - high speed, short range.

This kind of fleet takes advantage of the high damage output that destroyers offer, along with their high speed relative to ships like cruisers and battlecruisers in order to swarm over fleeing targets. The key aspects are as follows: [*] High speed (MWD recommended, speed rigs or speed mods are a plus) [*] High damage output at short to mid range (close range weapons are fine, as are long ranged weapons with close range ammo. anything from 5-10km is cool) [*] Tank (try to fit a medium shield extender or failing that an armour plate, plus damage controls) [*] Webs and Scrams in any spare mid slots. We're happy for you to put together your own fits, there are no 'standard' fits for this one. However for those of you who want an idea of what we're aiming for, there are example fits linked below.

As usual, Alumni can either bring a gank dessy, or a similarly fit t2/faction frig (t2 frigs must have MWDs and scrams, unless it's a fleet inty or EAF).
