| − | Without a doubt Eve Online is the most complex MMOG out there on the market. Newbies to Eve Online see the lack of a twitch gameplay and think that the game must be inferior. When you actually get into the combat you see that Eve combat is one of the most complex and skill demanding experiences in gaming. To be successful, you have to be able to communicate effectively, plan diligently, and combine your piloting skills with your character's skill points. These are no small tasks when you add to this the complexities of fitting a ship.

AGONY members are almost constantly tinkering with setups and tactics and debating those tactics until the cows come home. Often, on our Ventrilo server, we have 4 or 5 channels each talking about different tactics and setups. Debate can often be hot and heavy but all of the pilots are seeking the same result -- the perfect setup or tactic. Those that fight us are often flustered at what they see are oddball tactics out of the mainstream. To AGONY, this is a positive thing. We like to keep our opponents guessing and to have a large tool set for dealing with opponents. When the opponent adapts to one tactic, you switch to a tactic that is a counter to their counter. The research is all very complex and often involves the input of everyone in AGONY but it often has spectacular and great result.

The results have been impressive. We have documented many of the tactics we have developed, many of which are accessible by AGONY members only. Keep in mind that written tactics are all well and good but they don't mean anything unless you can get trained on them and you can use them in actual combat sessions. When you take the tactics and try to use them, things that might not have made sense will become obvious and you will learn the tactic quickly. Therefore don't think of tactics as a replacement of gang strategy but rather an extension.
